NOVEMBER CHALLENGE 🖤
Bonjour my little demon, ready to collect gem #13?
Whether you just joined or have been here from the beginning, thank you so much for reading.
TODAY’S GEM
In most portraits, the eyes will be the most important feature. But to bring your character to life, you don’t need to overcomplicate them. In fact, simplifying the eyes is what makes them truly lifelike.
I always encourage my students to break the eyes into just 5 simple lines. From there, you can add the upper and lower eyelids.
It’s a simple trick, but it captures the direction and essence of the gaze perfectly. And most importantly, it makes drawing the eye in any position much easier. Give it a try and see how it transforms your portraits!

What portrait topic would you like me to cover next?
Bisous,
Léa
